5th Meridian Nomads5th Meridian Nomads
Our chapter, 5th Meridian Sams, was formed in 2004 because of the desire to experience fun and fellowship with other people who enjoy the RV lifestyle and was approved by Good Sam International in 2005. We have had some major changes with the disassociation from the International Good Sam and the establishing of the new Provincial Alberta RVers Association. We have had to change our name therefore and not use any crests, flags, signs etc. that have the Good Sam logo on them. Our new name is now 5th Meridian Nomads. We currently have 9 rigs. Our main purpose is to get together at campouts to have fun and enjoy each other’s company “turning smiles into memories”. We have monthly informal gatherings (coffee, goodies & fellowship) during the year (October-April). We have a Christmas dinner as agreed upon by chapter members at a local restaurant. We are an active club with various activities throughout the year. A typical campout consists of games, potluck dinners, touring local attractions and shopping. We also encourage our members to contribute to the community, for example, by visiting the local Farmers Markets or donating a food item to the food bank. In the evenings, weather permitting, there is usually a campfire and sharing stories till after dark. Our camping season usually begins in May and ends in September. Campouts are arranged by the Wagon Master and other participating members who provide a list of all campouts for the season. Members are free to pick and choose campouts as their schedule allows. We are off to another exciting season of fellowship and activities. The calendar of events and campouts for 2024 is listed as follows, and of course subject to change.
